About Alfa Tail and André Havas

My Story

I started my career in the asset management industry in 1997 as a sales and marketing executive for a local Swedish investment manager. This unintended career choice has taken me across continents, countries, different employers, providers, clients and disciplines in the asset management industry.

I have worked in large global institutional firms as well as with niche specialized asset managers. I have held senior positions, in the UK and Sweden, on the buy and sell side of the industry and managerial positions in the field of financial product development, sales and financial technology. 

From a geographic perspective I have covered Asian, European and Nordic markets. 

Over the years I have often been contracted to speak and moderate on international industry events as an expert in the field of asset management distribution, asset allocation and digital/technological tranformation. 

With Alfa Tail I bring 27 years of industry experience where the principle are the same, but the landscape is constantly changing. This is where I see that Alfa Tail can deliver insight, advice and actionability, by bridging participant demand and supply in capital markets.

On a side note I remember an episode from 1997 when a gentleman stood in the reception of where I worked. He introduced himself and announced that he had an appointment with the firm's CIO. I notified the CIO who told me that he had all forgotten about it and did not really have time to spend on a fad in passing such as exchange traded funds, which was the reason for the visit by the guest.

This industry is about the "tale" and the "tail". What we all look for is the "alfa".
